What is the Rationel CPD Course About?

The  Velfac/ Rationel CPD training course consists of three different training sessions that aim to improve your knowledge and skills so you can stay up to date with the latest improvements within architecture. 

The first session is “The Long Game: Indoor Climate and Sustainable Design”, which covers how you can achieve your business sustainability goals. Within the CPD, we provide an overview of sustainable design and explore how architects and designers can achieve their sustainability goals when specifying a composite window system. This provides an understanding of the critical drivers for change and how manufacturers can support by being transparent with their product’s sustainability credentials and covering topics such as Operational & Embodied Carbon, Passivhaus design, SBTI’s, Indoor Climate and EPD.

The second CPD session is “Design, Detail and Installation”, in which we provide an understanding of how Windows interfaces with different construction methods and build-ups commonly used, such as SFS, Blockwork, Timber frames, off-site modular build, brickwork, render, cladding systems, and how sequencing & set-back can affect the design & installation methodologies used.

The third session is “360 Degrees Window Consultancy & Specification Building”. We are generally focused on our V200E composite window & door system, during which we talk about the process & support you should expect from a window supplier—this from early specification/pre planning advice through to completion on site – covering topics such as Acoustics, Energy & Indoor Climate, Design, Sustainability, Cost Consultancy, Window Performance, BIM and Installation.
